A BRIEF HISTORY
HouseMaster opened it doors in Sherwood Park back in 1994 and has conducted over 50,000 home inspections. In 2012, HouseMaster was acquired by Paul Dolynny, who also owned House Guard Home inspections and the two companies were then merged. This created one of the largest professional home inspections companies Alberta had ever seen! But it was Paul’s hard work and understanding of the industry that lead to HouseMaster becoming one of the top choices for homebuyers and real estate professionals alike. For over 25 years Albertans have trusted HouseMaster to provide an unbiased and easy to understand report explaining the condition of the home. WHAT MAKES HOUSEMASTER DIFFERENT FROM OTHER HOME INSPECTORS?
There are many things that set us apart from our competition and its not just price! Many agents and other real estate professionals think that we because we are a larger company, that our fees are higher. However, that is not always the case. In 2012, when Paul first took over ownership, he actually lowered our prices! Then in 2016, we lowered them again in order to stay competitive. Our fees are calculated based on the different aspects of the home such as size, age, location, style and other factors. Just remember that saving a few dollars on a home inspection, can be costly in the long run.

We provide our clients with the tools and resources they’ll need to be the best homeowners they can be! At the start of the inspection the inspector will provide the client with our Inspection Resource Guide . This guide will help to explain what to expect during and after the inspection. Once the inspection is underway, your HouseMaster inspector will work systematically yet efficiently, because your time is valuable. Our clients are encouraged to attend and participate in the inspection, this way as the inspector goes through the home the client has the opportunity to ask any questions they may have and benefit from the home maintenance tips and tricks the inspector has to offer. At the end of the inspection the inspector will review all of his findings with the client but complete the report off site. Within 24 hours or less, your HouseMaster home inspection report will be posted on the HouseMaster Cloud, making it accessible and sharable by using your phone, tablet or PC!
The HouseMaster Cloud is more than just a place to review your inspection report. It’s a personal, comprehensive, online home management portal that is completely FREE!! (yes, really, its free!!). The Cloud allows you to complete many important tasks like scheduling home maintenance reminders to complete items like cleaning the gutters. You can upload important documents to the Cloud, such as your Real Property Report or seller disclosure forms. You can track household renovations by room or project and include things like paint color, trim codes, or room dimensions. From the Cloud you will also have access to the Buyer Benefits Program, its full of coupons to use before, during and after your move. The HouseMaster Cloud even has a section to input your appliances and electronics into a Recall Service database so you can get notified about recalls.
